St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
We are delighted to help introduce St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to the area. St. Jude is currently treating 10 patients in Washington, and spearheading clinical trials at Seattle Children’s Hospital, Seattle Children’s Research Institute and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Follow St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Pacific Northwest here.
- St. Jude is the coordinating center of the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Study—a long-term follow up study of pediatric cancer survivors, conducted jointly by 30 U.S. and Canadian institutions, including Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Seattle Children’s Hospital.
- Earlier this year, St. Jude launched St. Jude Cloud, an online data-sharing and collaboration platform that provides researchers access to the world’s largest public repository of pediatric cancer genomics data. Developed in partnership with Seattle-based Microsoft and DNAnexus, St. Jude Cloud provides scientists everywhere with accelerated data mining, analysis and visualization capabilities in a secure cloud-based environment.
- Researchers at St. Jude and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center recently developed a tool to help decode the process of how T-cell receptors rally the immune system to respond to threats. Each of these molecules, on the surface of white blood cells, recognizes a particular threat. This new discovery, published in the journal Nature, lays the groundwork for potentially designing T-cell receptors that recognize cancer, to help use the immune system more effectively.
