City of Shoreline Light Rail — Brand New, Eco-Friendly, Accessible Public Transit

When the Lynnwood Link 1‑Line light rail extension opened on August 30, 2024, it brought two new stations—Shoreline South/148th and Shoreline North/185th—offering rapid, eco-friendly transit connecting residents through Shoreline up to Lynnwood and down to Seattle and Sea‑Tac Airport. City leadership wanted to be “media ready,” and hired The Keller Group to provide media training, message prep and more. During two half-day sessions with the Mayor, city council members and more, our team ensured effective messaging to help tell the story to both local and regional press. Coverage ranged from the City’s official announcement of the grand‑opening celebration to broader stories like KUOW and THE URBANIST profiling the project’s community and environmental impact.
