Medical Teams International Raises $1.2M at 10th Annual Great Adventure Auction

Medical Teams International (MTI) raised more than one million dollars at its 10th annual Great Adventure Auction. The event raised funds to send life-saving and life-changing health care to millions of people affected by disaster, conflict and poverty around the world. This year’s auction brought together a record breaking 615 attendees to MTI’s Distribution Center in Oregon.

The Distribution Center, where volunteers gather daily to sort and ship donated medical supplies around the world, was transformed into a global adventure for the special evening. Attendees were able to tour the multi-sensory REAL.LIFE., an exhibit that highlights MTI’s work and allows those touring it to experience the nonprofit’s impact. An international bazaar featured beautiful scarves, wooden bowls, textiles and unique art collected from countries served by MTI.

The heart of the evening was the dinner and live auction. Auctioneer John Curley introduced packages available to buyers including exotic vacations, winemaker dinners, original art, sporting events and more.

“What made this evening truly special was the global impact of this local gathering’s generosity that will change the lives of the vulnerable and marginalized around the world,” said Jeff Pinneo, MTI’s president and CEO. “We are so appreciative of our gracious co-chairs, Jim and Cathy Rudd and Andy and Kristi York, presenting sponsors and auction attendees who made this year’s Great Adventure Auction a phenomenal success.”
