POSITIVELY PATTI PAYNE  Volume 1

TODAY’S WORD IS OPTIMISM.

And oh my heavens to Murgatroyd!”  The outpouring of notes on emails, texts and Facebook is crazy wonderful in response to my announcement of the launch of my new life chapter – “Positively Patti Payne.”

That’s me, folks – innately happy, buoyant, forward-looking, upbeat. An onward and upward gal for whom there are no limits. I am grateful for your response to all this change.

And speak of perfect timing, this happens to be National Optimism Month.  Plug the word into Google, and this is some of what comes up:

“op·ti·mism

/ˈäptəˌmiz(ə)m/

noun: optimism

A disposition or tendency to look on the more favorable side of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome.

Hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something.

buoyancy

cheerfulness

sanguineness

positiveness

positive attitude

The doctrine, especially as set forth by Leibniz, that this world is the best of all possible worlds.

The belief that good must ultimately prevail over evil in the universe.”

So there you have it folks. The first day of my freedom from deadlines and from being under the purview of those who axe out creativity and joy and spirit and uniqueness.

My father taught me something early on that I never forgot. I didn’t understand it when he said it to me as I was way too young. But the words and meaning sank in somewhere along the way.

“Patti,” he said, “you can’t have your a – –  in two boats.”

It’s true in politics. It’s true in business. It’s true in life.  And my “boat” is floating in optimism and joy because of all of you and the vivid reminders of all that is, and all that will be.

Every day, every minute is a choice. I choose optimism. And I love that you’re all riding that boat with me.

Thanks,

Positively Patti Payne
