A Big Warm Welcome to our New Team Member
Summer is underway and we would like to give a warm welcome to our newest team member, Nikole Gennari.
Nikole is a recent graduate of Gonzaga University and excited to be part of The Keller Group. While at Gonzaga, Nikole earned her degree in public relations with a minor in marketing promotions. In the past, Nikole interned with another PR agency and is excited to gain even more experience as The Keller Group’s public relations intern.
Learn more about the recent grad in the interview below:
Q: What about The Keller Group sparked your interest the most and inspired you to apply for the internship position?
A: Whether it was lacrosse or working on school projects, I have always been on a team. Working in a small, cohesive team where everyone can play a role in the final product is exciting and is what drew me to The Keller Group. In terms of inspiration, the opportunity to work with a group of intelligent women who have years of experience in public relations captivated my interest and drove me to apply for this internship position. I am excited to be a part of The Keller Group team.
Q: What made you decide to pursue a career in the public relations industry?
A: Initially, I was drawn to public relations because I had the impression, a “people person” was the type who thrived in this industry and I believed I matched that persona. While this holds true for the industry, it is only a small portion of this very exciting field. As I learned more about public relations at Gonzaga, my pursuit became clearer, sharing a client’s voice in a fast-paced (and well-timed) manner is moving! I am a planner and I enjoy being productive, so the industry seemed like a perfect marriage for my skills.
Q: If you could host a talk show, who would be your first guest and why?
A: Jerry Seinfeld’s observational humor has cracked me up for years. I grew up watching Seinfeld, the show about nothing, and I can watch episodes repeatedly and be in stitches. I admire his ability to remain relevant after decades in the entertainment industry. He seems like the type of guest who would put me at ease for the first episode of my talk show, Today: Nikole With a Kay!
Q: What is one of the things on your bucket list?
A: Learning how to speak fluently in a second language. I have friends who speak different languages and I am always jealous because I do not have a clue what is going on. I took Spanish for four years, from middle school through high school and took Italian while studying abroad in Florence. Learning a second language teaches you about that culture and I always enjoy learning about new and different cultures.
