Abbi Kaplan is on board with The Keller Group as a key advisor on a number of clients and projects that require well-defined communications and community relations strategies.
An award winning writer and planner, Abbi has worked in public affairs and media for more than 25 years. She is widely recognized as one of the region’s most able health care communicators, understanding all aspects of health care, from care delivery to insurance. She served as Executive Director to the Washington Healthcare Forum for five years.
Abbi often serves as a media spokesperson for clients, delivering broadcast and print interviews. Her communications consulting experience includes more than five years with The Rockey Company, where she was vice president and headed the agency’s health care practice. As the public relations director for Swedish Medical Center for three years, Kaplan managed and implemented internal communications, media relations, physician relations and issues management on behalf of Washington state’s largest hospital. She served as the hospital’s chief spokesperson, providing interviews to broadcast and print reporters.
Kaplan began her career as a broadcast and print journalist, regularly serving as a free-lance contributor to national media outlets. As a television reporter, she covered breaking news and reported live from the scene of news events.
She brings her experience working on both sides of the camera to lively media training sessions where she helps people hone their skills and deliver clear and compelling messages.
